As you all know from this blog post, PCV InSight is our research and policy arm here at Pacific Community Ventures. Their work focuses heavily on impact investing, a field that is seeing a “surge of interest” according to PCV InSight Director Ben Thornley in his latest Huffington Post blog. There is so much interest, in fact, that the G8 is hosting a Social Impact Investment Conference in London tomorrow. This conference aims to help boost the growing social impact investing market by exploring issues such as:
- How to enable the market to operate effectively on a global scale
- How to develop the role of social impact investing to help international development
Because of PCV InSight’s experience and expertise in impact investing, much of it gained through our on-the-ground work with small businesses, we will have a seat at the table – a huge honor for us! PCV InSight’s Sarah Ritter (who was seconded to work in the UK Cabinet Office for the next eight weeks) will be joined by Ben Thornley and Colby Dailey in London for the conference, and together they’ll share the findings from our latest report, Breaking the Binary: Policy Guide to Scaling Social Innovation. Conference attendees will receive a condensed version of the report to learn about the best practices in impact investing that we’ve discovered from all over the world.
To learn more about the best practices on impact investing that we discovered, please check out the report! We’ll be sure to update you after the conference and share some photos.
