Congratulations to Local Mission Market on the closing of their $75,000 PCV SAIL loan! Local Mission Market is one-third of the establishments that make up the Local Mission Group, which also includes two popular restaurants – Local Mission Eatery and Local’s Corner. Opened in 2010, Local Mission Eatery is a vegetable-focused restaurant inspired by Northern California’s bountiful produce, and was one of the first restaurants in San Francisco to meet the demand for locally-sourced food.
In 2012, Local Mission Group opened Local’s Corner, a seafood restaurant and raw bar, which was given three stars by the San Francisco Chronicle and recommended by Michelin. While Local Mission Eatery was one of the first restaurants to respond to the demand for locally-sourced produce, Local’s Corner is one of the only San Francisco restaurants truly locally-sourcing seafood. “We consider ourselves a great seafood city,” says Local Mission Group owner Yaron Milgrom, “But many restaurants in San Francisco get their seafood from all over the world. Some people in the city don’t even know when local salmon season is. We want to change that.”
Local Mission Group will use its SAIL loan to support the opening of Local Mission Market this fall. The market will feature homemade and locally-sourced food for a community dedicated to shopping locally and living sustainably. Congratulations to the entire Local Mission Group team!
