Jeff Johnston is extremely qualified. He’s earned a degree in accounting from Kansas State University, a J.D. from JFK University, passed the California bar exam, and completed his studies for an LL.M. (advanced law degree) in taxation from Golden Gate University advanced graduate law programs. He’s admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, and certified by the California Tax Education Council.
Johnston Tax Group currently represents taxpayers before the IRS Examinations (audits), IRS Appeals, and California Board of Equalization. They appeal decisions by the Franchise Tax Board on income tax matters and the BOE on sales tax matters. Johnston Tax group also specializes in addressing the ever-growing and expanding tax code, as well as Treasury regulations. The company provides tax preparation, representing companies and individuals in audit and collection cases and general bookkeeping services. Jeff offers a range of pricing is offered from low-cost tax preparation to high dollar specialized IRS representation.
As his practice grew and thrived, Jeff realized he needed to expand his in-house team. Unable to secure a traditional bank loan as a small business owner, Johnston Tax Group came to Pacific Community Ventures after meeting our team at the Castro Merchants Association in San Francisco. Our loan program is helping them fund the acquisition of Valley Bookkeeping and Tax Service. Valley Bookkeeping’s owners are staying on full-time, and will be able to expand service offering. Johnston Tax Group is also funding an investment in tax and practice software upgrades by Thomson Reuters.
