Over the past year, our society has experienced an immense amount of tragedy during the pandemic. It has been with great heartache, tenacity, and our commitment to addressing racial injustice and inequality that we recognize the impact of racial violence, police brutality, and economic disparities amongst people of color, especially Black people. We want to acknowledge that this is a lot to carry as we are working through hard times, while trying to push for economic security through our work, especially for people of color.
Here are some resources and actions we continue to reference during this time to deepen our work, along with some self-care to get us through these challenging times. We encourage you to share amongst your communities, families, and friends. Visit George Floyd Memorial Foundation to get involved and contribute; Black Lives Matter for more resources, events, and actions. Read this guide to allyship and this resource for white people and parents to deepen anti-racism work. If you’re in a position of privilege, evolve your mindset and lifestyle. Listen to affected communities and leaders more than you speak—support community organizations run by people of color.
PCV continues to stand in solidarity with the Black community.
