PCV turned 15 this year! And while we still couldn’t legally drive, by 2012 we’d worked with over 3,000 businesses, created more than 30,000 jobs, and enabled over $300,000,000 in wages paid. We also evaluated $25 billion in capital directed to social impact through our consulting practice.
2011 was another big year in our efforts to prove that impact investing could be a viable path forward to create markets that also worked for good. We published “Impact At Scale” which examines investments with the intent to create measurable social or environmental benefit in addition to financial return. We published The Impact Investor — a project to build data-driven and practitioner-guided knowledge for the rapidly growing field of impact investing, as well as 6 Dynamics of Impact Investing. And, we released Capital Markets for Impact at Scale in partnership with Rockefeller Foundation and worked with the World Economic Forum to launch a toolkit for investing in social enterprise.
