In 2011, PCV ramped up our policy and field-building research practice to some big state-wide and national acclaim. We have been supporting the development of networks, infrastructure, intermediaries and research designed to accelerate the maturation of an impact investing industry that seeks to create social and environmental benefit in addition to profit. Our report with the Rockefeller Foundation, “Impact Investing” was White House recommended reading at the Impact Economy summit.
We also laid out a strong, data-backed business case for measuring the social and environmental impact of CDFIs, in addition to financial impact, which was published by the Federal Reserve Bank. And our work didn’t stop at the national field-building level. We also looked in our backyard here in California, and published Health Care and Small Business: Understanding Health Care Decision Making in California, which describes small business owner behavior and decision making processes when offering and purchasing health insurance benefits for their employees.
