Autumn Joiner, Sharp Arrows

Autumn Joiner’s passion for empowering youth in her community began at a young age, as she watched her mother, a single parent, care for her and other youth in their neighborhood. In 2016, the seeds for Sharp Arrows, LLC were planted, and Autumn was able to bring her vision into fruition in 2022. Sharp Arrows is a youth empowerment organization that creates products to catapult young people towards confidently pursuing their goals. As an organization, they pride themselves on standing with parents and youth leaders to support and aid in building confident, educated, and well-rounded youth.

In the spring of 2022, Autumn decided to take her business to the next level and joined a women entrepreneurs group through The 3rd. Through this relationship, she was referred to Pacific Community Ventures Business Advising program and signed up to be paired with a mentor. She began working with Cherene Birkholz to develop a growth and marketing strategy for the business. She wanted to learn how to improve products and services offered, and needed a formal business or marketing plan. When asked if PCV met her needs with the partnership, Autumn responded “in all honesty, I didn’t know what to expect and if our personalities would be a good fit. But one thing I can say without any reservations – my mentor rocks!…Cherene is a perfect fit for where I am in my journey and our personalities mesh well!” Cherene has empowered Autumn to execute several pop-up events and to launch a two-week campaign to compete for a grant opportunity. Autumn was ecstatic to report that Sharp Arrows won the grant!

Autumn has goals of continuing to expand her business and offering cool products that affirm youth and support their mental health journey. She is beyond thankful for the partnership through PCV. She exclaimed, “this partnership has surpassed my expectations and has supported me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. My mentor’s wealth of knowledge and her entrepreneurial experiences have helped me navigate and champion some of my own challenges. Having a mentor to walk alongside of me has provided an extra layer of support and I’m so grateful because entrepreneurship can sometimes be a lonely road.”
