Volunteer Story: Kejun Long
While soft-spoken, Jim’s career experience and college education speaks volumes.
Kejun Long, who goes by Jim, is a soft-spoken young professional that wanted to give back and came to us in July of 2020 after finding out about the work we do with small business owners via LinkedIn. He was eager to lend the skills and experience he has learned since graduating from UC Berkeley in 2016. As a Cantonese and Mandarin native speaker, Jim was happy to hear that we have small business owners that are also native in Cantonese and Mandarin that he could assist.
While soft-spoken, Jim’s career experience and college education speaks volumes. He is a CPA in California with experience in finance, budgeting, taxes and audits. A few short weeks after enrolling as a volunteer, Jim was matched with Tiffany Liu who preferred to work with a Cantonese-speaking advisor, and has worked to help their business stay on a strong financial path with an aggressive strategy. There have been some learning curves just like any new relationship, but with persistence and the willingness to learn, we are happy to hear that Jim and Tiffany have built a trusted partnership that is still going strong months later.
